Bishop Cotton School, Shimla

Bishop Cotton School is the oldest boys boarding school located in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. The school was founded on 28 July 1859 by Bishop George Edward Lynch Cotton. This boarding school was opened for students on 15th March 1863. In the beginning, only 35 boys were admitted, and the school incremented its vigour to 65 students by the year 1864. It is affiliated to the CISCE, New Delhi, an all-India Board. The Council administers two public examinations – The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) at the cessation of Class X and, The Indian School Certificate (ISC) at the cessation of Class XII.
The school actively emboldens co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Debating and elocution are astronomically popular where the school trains and polishes students in public verbalizing.
